Cell Phone Tips & Tricks

Free Directory

1-800-FREE-411 (800-373-3411) is a free directory service (ad supported). Use it to find numbers without the cost of regular 411 service. Also try Google by Voice, at 1-800-GOOG-411 (800-4664-411) which will provide business listings (but not residential). When you decide which you like best, put it in to speed dial for easy access. These calls will count as normal airtime on your cell phone plan, just like a regular call.

Blog by Phone

Take a picture or type some text and upload it to your blog via cell phone at Blogger Mobile, a part of Blogger.com. A great way to blog about events as they happen.

Flashlight By Cell Phone

Use your screen to light up a small area, for example, to find something dropped in the dark or to see a keyhole. Works best if you set your background to plain white.

Get Directions

Get maps, step by step directions, and photos, by using Google Mobile Maps or Wireless MapQuest.

Find My Cell Phone

Lost your phone? Give it a ring and listen. You can dial your number by another phone, or go to Where's My Phone, enter your number, and listen.

cell phone tracking

How To Track A Cell Phone
In order to safely start tracking a cell phone without the owner noticing that you are tracking his or her cell phone you can only do 1 thing. Using a software program which allows you to track any cell phone.
When you use such a software program, you’ll be capable of tracking any cell phone without getting noticed by the owner.
However, many of these programs that are around are fake, not working and pure scams. Therefore, in order to avoid you wasting your money and time, you should only get yourself a program which has received many great feedback, and which also has a high reputation.

cell phone tip

Cell Phones and Time Management

Reminders and alarms are some of the most useful tools on a cell phone, but they are also the least appreciated.
Most cell phones come with a scheduler to allow you to set an alarm at a certain time of day or on a certain date. You can set alarms to remind you of an established daily homework time to keep you from chatting right through your work time. For instance, you can set up a beeper that goes off every night at 7.
You could also use calendar reminders to notify you when projects and assignments are due. These reminders can be set up weeks and months ahead of time.

Cell phone for soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to turn old cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas in 2008. To do so, Cell Phones for Soldiers expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country.

The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone – enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.

“Americans will replace an estimated 130 million cell phones this year,” says Mike Newman, vice president of ReCellular, “with the majority of phones either discarded or stuffed in a drawer.  Most people don’t realize that the small sacrifice of donating their unwanted phones can have a tremendous benefit for a worthy cause like Cell Phones for Soldiers.”
